Day 1 in Beijing!!

Day 1 in Beijing was pretty cool!! We started off with a huge breakfast buffet, which was delicious and had very good coffee!:) We left the hotel at about 9:30am and went to the Jade factory. They showed us how they cut the Jade in to different types of jewelry and sculptures. Of course, we had the opportunity to purchase some of that jewelry afterwards!! After the Jade factory, we went to the Great Wall of China. Needless to say, the Great Wall is pretty amazing. The pictures that we post of the Great Wall do it NO justice. It is enormous and we actually climbed the Great Wall for about an hour and that was just a small portion of it. We all enjoyed the scenery and the heritage. We also had a great Chinese family style lunch with the group and then went to the Olympic stadium from 2008 Summer Olympics.

There are 6 couples here on this trip from our agency, EAC, that are adopting. All of the couples that we are over here with are great and our guide, Zhou, is a wonderful host to us in China. Two of the couples are from MS and one from New York and one from Detroit. We will meet the sixth couple in Guangzhou in about a week. There is definitely a common bond that formed between us all as soon as we met. We all are close in age and have so much in common and throughly enjoy being around each of these couples. One of the other ladies is a bigger germophobe than me!!!! Hahahaha!! She brought more lysol than I did.....and Lee makes fun of me!!!:):) She brought 5 cans of lysol to my 2 can!!:):):) God really has put a great group together here and we are so thankful that we all mesh together so well. All of the other couples are adopting little girls and then of course we are getting our two boys.

This has been a long journey, but we are now two days away from meeting our boys. Can't hardly wait. I will not say that there isn't a little anxiousness, but we know that the Lord has orchestrated everything about this and that he has given us all that we need to be able to accomplish His will for these precious boys.

We are posting several pics from our day at the Great Wall and tomorrow we will post pics from Day 2 (today) in Beijing. It is SNOWING today and very cold!! More tomorrow.
